So, I was looking around on here one day and came upon a comment made by a fellow New Zealander in a forum thread a while back.

She said the following regarding the question “What period in history would you like to have lived in?” (or something like that lol)

Her response “I would have lived in the 1700’s when New Zealand was first discovered”

Ah ok, hold the boat on that one…

I don’t know what they taught at the Schools she attended, but it sure is different from what the rest of us were taught and far from the actual truth.

Now I'm not going to turn this into a "My People got here before Your People deal but all I have to say to her is you’re…

WRONG WRONG and WRONG

Fact: The first Polynesian (Maori) people to DISCOVER and settle in New Zealand are thought to have arrived between 950-1130 AD and the Moriori people were settling on a small group of islands off the coast of NZ

Fact: In 1642 the first of the European explorers, Abel Janszoon Tasman from Holland, sails into New Zealand waters. The first encounter between Maori and European is violent, leading to bloodshed. After partly charting the coastline, Tasman leaves New Zealand without ever having had the occasion to set foot ashore.

Fact: One hundred years pass by before the next Europeans arrive. In 1769 James Cook, British explorer, and Jean François Marie de Surville, commander of a French trading ship, both arrive by coincidence in New Zealand waters at the same time.

Fact: From the late 1790's on, whalers, traders and missionaries arrive, establishing settlements mainly along the far northern coast of New Zealand

So unless my calculations are wrong, you’re about 750-570 years ahead of yourself.

Cool Bananas =D

Ohhh and I forgot something else too

If you're ever in a mellow mood and feel like listening to some really beautiful and calming music that makes you feel like you're sitting on a white sandy beach in Hawaii, then this man is for you...

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

or

Bruddah Iz

This man right here was an Angel.

His music was just plain beautiful, sweet and calming.

It's a shame the world doesn't have more people like Bruddah Iz, if it did then it would be a better place to live.

While he lived, he made great music that still calms the souls of those who listen to him today.

Since Hawaiins are my Ohana/Whanau, I thought I'd share that with you :)

ARRRRRHHHH!!

I know some people might find this a silly thing to get pissy over but I couldn't really sive a you know what right now lol.

For the past week I've just been getting so irritated in the main forums here.

Why? I hear you ask

Because SOME people feel the need to post in the same thread 100 times and respond to themselves!!!!

Now I'm not talking about 2, 3 or 4 people here, I'm talking about 1 individual who obviously believes that intelligence is measured by how many posts one can make after the other, that contain the most confusing and contradicting drabble ever.

It's rather annoying when the thread is about an interesting topic and after 1 day, it's closed thanks to some moron who wants to get his posts up so he wreaks his verbal/keyboard diarrhoea upon the thread.

I'm sure if you browse through the forums you'd see who I am talking about.

So person. if you happen to read this, here's a few points for you

1. intelligence is a trait that you do not have. You're posts are full of BS. Just because you use big words and quote information from books does not make you intelligent, it just means that you're good at talking out of your ass and using someone else work :)

2. I know that we sometimes forget to write everything we wanted to say in a post, so some would naturally post again, but you take it to a whole new level!!!

5 F***ING TIMES!!!!

Are you that stupid???

3. Your sad attempts at trying to prove your point after your points of veiw were challenged by a few people is pathetic, sad and a sign that someone is in desperate need to be right all the time, even though 99% of the time you talk out of your ass :)

4. I just don't like you :)

That's me done for the day :D

Now I need to have a hot lemon drink and try to get rid of this stupid cold :(

EDIT: And it continues.....
